The birds here use all sorts of stuff in their nests. The tape comes from boxes that I use to mulch the garden The cardboard rots down, leaving the cellotape that I was too lazy to remove, for me to pick up later...if the birds don't get it first! Then I have to wait until they have abandoned the nest, and it has blown down out of the very tall trees, before I can print it.
This is quite a large nest, and is printed directly from the nest as always. There is no plate, the nest is the plate. The edition of 20 (or less if it falls apart before then) will be VERY variable, so every print is unique. The images below are two Artist's proofs, with different colours and paper (and paper size and shape). First Fabriano Rosapina and second Magnani Incisioni (though they were not printed in that order, you can probably spot which bits have already disintegrated).
